Intro Time....

Hello and welcome to Lilly Violet. I dont have a clear answer to exactly what this blog will be about because it's a exploration and evolving journey of my interests to get me where I belong. What are my interests? I love antiques because I am very sentimental about preserving history and heirlooms. I always been obsessed with the Georgian ,Victorian & Edwardian era  especially the clothing which lead me into a early interest and career into Fashion. However, I decided to put that on the back burner while I settled down and had a family. I devoted my last 11 years as a mother to 3 children whom I homeschool and live a pretty offbeat eccentric lifestyle. I was born and raised in the mean streets of Brooklyn NYC but wanted to raise my kids on a polar opposite way- deep down South in the country so we finally did just that  in 2014. It's been a exactly what we were hoping for, for the most part but the most surprising and exciting thing we discovered is the abundance of antique stores, thrift & flea markets. It opened up a whole new world of interests- antique furnishings, well antique EVERYTHING....and insanely affordable at that! Our ultimate dream is to live in a big old Victorian house surrounded by acres of land but we are not quite there yet....Baby steps, however we try to live in that atmosphere until then.  I am very much still in the beginner stages of learning how to spot the real treasures and would love to interact with those with far more knowledge then me or share the same interests in learning the history of antiques,  DIY crafting, refurbishing, home decor and all things creative. As well as being a mother, teacher, homemaker- I work part time, do freelance commissioned artwork and an  inspiring entrepreneur. I will be featuring my finds- some I will sell and some are priceless to me ( I have the big problem getting attached to all my " treasures")  I will have an Ebay, Etsy store as well offer commissioned artwork  and will make Youtube videos featuring awesome finds , tutorials and sharing info in how to spot the real valuable goods and research on items as I learn myself . So welcome- let's discover old cool stuff together and bring back some of  the beauty the old world has left for us...
